Game Summary
The good news about last night's game is the continuous improvement we've made playing as a team despite the number of players who weren't able to make the game. The bad news is we ended up on the wrong end of 16-1 game.
On ground balls we are holding our own. Faceoffs we continue to dominate (64% last night, 50%+ YTD). But, despite the opportunities with possession we continue to have difficulties clearing the ball, making the transition to offense and slowing down the pace to set picks, cuts, feeds and get quality shots. We managed only 14 shots which is just two thirds of our season average.
We can't say enough about how much we appreciate everyone's effort to 'do their best' and we have come quite a ways playing much better as a team. However, the Stragglers were a very good opponent and a second year team who play together indoors throughout the winter. An idea I've spoken with their organizers about. The thought would be to have an ONELL Winter league or at least a South Shore/South Coast winter league....more later.
